In the letter to the Ephesians we’re told that we don’t wrestle against flesh and blood but that instead our enemy is an invisible and stubborn adversary who seeks to steal, kill, and destroy.

When you’re in a wrestling match you can find yourself in a really bad position, but all of a sudden the tide turns and now you’re the one on the offensive. So in this wrestling match for souls we will go through these motions back and forth repeatedly, until we are perfected in love and build a house using gold and precious stones. Paul’s name was known among the demonic world because he had gone through the training to be an overcomer. He went and planted and the enemy could not withstand the power of Christ in him. He knew who he was, how to fight, and loved not his life into death.

I can testify to the training, I’m in a place where there is a spiritual battle for souls, where just being present can save someone. It feels like one day I can try and try to convince someone of the truth and get nowhere. And other days where the lost sheep come to me instead. I’ve been tempted repeatedly, and my best defense has been to walk according to the Spirit.

This battle is ongoing all over the world. How much more in the heavenly places?
